Capstone Fire Management Inc. accepts applications for the position of Driver Operator and Captain for wildland fire patrol in San Diego and Orange Counties throughout the year.  Typical duties include working 12 hour shifts on Type 6 engines, conducting fire safety briefings for electrical workers, conducting apparatus checks, completing daily training, taking weather, providing first aid firefighting in the event of an ignition and providing emergency medical services for utility workers constructing and maintaining electrical lines. On occasion personnel will work a 24 hour shift during red flag warnings and high wind events, as well as after-hour standby. Captains typically report to a Battalion Chief and/or company Management. Minimum requirements include being 21 years of age, having a clean driver’s license and passing a comprehensive drug & background check. Current EMT certification is required. Driver Operator 1
Minimum Qualifications: 21 years old. Eighteen months or more years of professional firefighting experience. Valid Driver's License, Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background. 

Minimum Training Requirements: California State Fire Marshal Driver Operator 1a 1b and/or CA State FF2 or equivalent. EMT B, CPR with AED. (NWCG 310-1: FFT-1) S-131, S-133, S-211, S-212, S-215, S-216 and S-271 


Driver Operator 2
Minimum Qualifications: 21 years old. Three years or more years of professional firefighting experience. Valid Driver's License, Class B Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background.

Minimum Training Requirements: California State Fire Marshal Driver Operator 1a 1b and/or CA State FF2 or equivalent. EMT B, CPR with AED. (NWCG 310-1: FFT-1) S-131, S-133, S-211, S-212, S-215, S-216 and S-271 


Captain 1
Minimum Qualifications: Three or more years of professional paid fire experience. Valid Driver's License Clean DMV driving record. Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background.

Minimum Training Requirements: California State Fire Marshal Fire Officer or equivalent. (NWCG 310-1: ENGB) I-200, L-280, S-215, S-270, S-230, S-231, S-234, S-290. Basic First Aid, CPR and EMT.
 


Captain 2
Minimum Qualifications: Five or more years of professional paid fire experience. Valid Driver's License Clean DMV driving record. Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background.

Minimum Training Requirements: California State Fire Marshal Fire Officer or equivalent. (NWCG 310-1: ENGB) I-200, L-280, S-215, S-270, S-230, S-231, S-234, S-290. Basic First Aid, CPR and EMT.
 

Battalion Chief
Capstone Fire Management is accepting applications for the position of Battalion Chief for seasonal wildland fire patrol in San Diego and Orange Counties serving utility companies. Typical duties include working 12 hour shifts to supervise up to 8 Type VI engine crews, tracking resources and working with Sr. Management and client Fire Coordinators. On occasion may work a 24 hour shift during red flag warnings and high wind events, as well as some after hour standby. Battalion Chief will typically be working a 40+ hour/week schedule in the San Diego area during contract periods, but may job share with other qualified individuals. This is a non-exempt, part time, hourly position and standard overtime rules apply.  

Minimum Experience: Ten (10) years of paid professional all risk fire service experience or equivalent, Five (5) of those years as a company officer/supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: California State Fire Officer or equivalent. NWCG Engine Strike Team Leader (STEN) or equivalent. Valid Driver's License, Clean DMV record, Valid medical certification card (DL 51A). Must be able to pass a moderate (field) work capacity test (walking 2 miles on flat ground in 30min with 25lb pack). Valid CPR cert. 

Desirable Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, Associates Degree or approved higher education. California State Chief Officer Cert; NWCG Division/Group Supervisor or other wildland overhead positions. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B)
